ORDER:

1. In the reference cited above, Dr.P.Sivaramakrishna, Director, Sakti, a
Voluntary Organization working for the welfare of tribals and conservation of forests
presented details regarding the short term pilot course for tribals as field-guides and
tour-organizers in eco-tourism and cultural-tourism in the Nagarjuna Sagar -
Srisailam Tiger Reserve.

2, The course details are as follows:

(a) Objectives :

•  To nurture the skills of chenchu tribals as field guides and local
tour organizers in NSTR

•  Promote self employment opportunities of chenchus

•  Sponsoring Agency : Tribal Welfare Department

•  Collaborators : Forest, Tourism and Endowment Departments, Telugu
University (Srisailam Branch)

•  Venue for the Pilot program : ITDA, Sundipenta, Srisailam

•  Duration of the training : 60 days

•  Number of participants : 25 chenchu tribals of 10 th standard education

•  Methodology : Participatory

(h) Material aids for the course:

•  The literature on the importance of Nallamala Forest

•  The printed, audio-visual material prepared by different
government departments

•  The video cassettes of popular films chenchu laaxrni, bhaktha
kannappa and national geographic discovery channel etc.

3. The cost implications for the program for one batch of 25 candidates would be as follows:

4. After the training is over a tool kit consisting of a bag, a camera, a torch light, a pair of shoes, a rain coat, a first aid kit, a photo alburn and a tape recorder will be provided @ Rs. 5000/- per head. Thereby the candidate would be able to employ himself gainfully in a meaningful and tribal specific self-employment programme.

5. The overall cost of the course is as follows:

•  After carefully examing the proposal, it is herewith decided that the training programme shall be conducted initially for a batch of 25 chenchu youth through Shaki, Hyderabad . However the_ programme will have to be conducted under overall supervision of Project Officer, ITDA, Srisailam. The money shall be released to PO, ITDA, Srisailam, who shall inturn place it at the disposal of Shakti, Hyderabad . The Project Officer, ITDA shall also provide necessary accommodation at PMRC, Srisailam for taking up the training in a residential mode. He shall also inspect the training programme periodically and ensure that the programme is conducted successfully and meaningfully.

•  The General Manager, TRICOR, Hyderabad shall issue cheque in favour of the Project Officer, ITDA, Srisailam, Kurnool for an amount of Rs. 2, 75,0007- (Rupees two lakhs and seventy five thousand only) from the amount available for imparting HRD training kept with the PD a/c of TRICOR.
