Maintenance of Drinking Water Borewells-Training in Bore Well Mechanism-Reg

Ref: Proposals from Sri B. Purushotham, Sakti, Srisailam.

ORDER

There are (650) Drinking Water bore wells drilled in the chenchugudems and maintained by ITDA. These bore wells are often falling repairs and the existing machinery is not able to respond to the needs and this is causing discontent among the community and the need to train up the community to maintain the bore wells has been repetedly discussed for a long time.

Vide reference cited above Sri B. Purushottam from SAKTI has approached this office and proposed to impart necessary training to the Chenchu youth in borewell mechanism and requested this Office to make necessary arrangements to impart the training. The matter was discussed in the meeting held with engineering field staff on 15-4-99 and the following orders are issued here with.

  • The training shall be given at three places at Bairluti, Yerragondapalem and Mannanur.
  • The candidates shall be drafted either from the VLWS or from the village Chenchu youth @ one person for three villages or for (10) bore wells. In such case the candidates shall be (20) from Mahaboobnagar dist, (20) from Prakasam dist, (10) from Kurnool dist and (10) from Guntur dist.
  • The AEEs concerned shall have to coordinate the program and the Volunteer Association shall deploy (3) teams to train the candidates.
  • The training shall commence from 1-5-99 and will continue up to 10-6-99
  • During the training the candidates shall be given free boarding and lodging and the principals of AP Residential School for PTG boys at Yerragondapalem and Mannanur and Warden, ST Boys Hostel, Bairulti to provide necessary accommodation to these candidates for this they have to keep one or two halls vacant and keep the keys under the control of AEE concerned.
  • The candidates to report to the centers by the evening of 30-4-99 positively and the responsibility of sending the communication is entrusted to the CDCs, ADCs, AEOs and Supervisors of Education.
  • The candidates to be given a kit of a bucket, tumble, bedding kit by ITDA. Their boarding to be arranged in the local hotel or in the hotels based on their tour program.
  • During the training program the information on the defunct bore wells to be sent to these camps so that the trainees shall be taken to the villages for training as well as repairs. It is expected that the maintenance of the bore wells during the summer is going to be taken care of tin this arrangement.
