ABSTRACT

FOREST DEPARTMENT - Sundra Trees - Allotment of Sundra Trees in Adilabad, Warangal , Khammam and Karimnagar - Orders - Issued.

O R D E R :

In the Government Memo. 1 st read above, it has been decided to lease out the Sundra Trees to the tribals Organised into a group on a Selective basis in a few Centres through the Integrated Tribal Development Authorities under the administrative control of Director of tribal Welfare on experimental basis and accordingly orders were issued.

2. In the Government Memo, 2nd read above, it has been decided to renew the lease of Sundra trees in favour of Tribals through Integrated Tribal Development Authorities in Adilabad and warangal Districts in view of the employment benefits the Tribals are getting and also to lease out Sundra Trees in Karimnagar and Khammam Districts to private Small Scale Industries, for a period of three years on payment of royalty to be fixed separately and the Prl. Chief Conservator of Forests has been requested to send necessary proposals.

3. As the Integrated Tribal Development Authority Societies are there in Karimnagar and Khammam Districts also, the Prl. Chief Conservator of Forests is requested to take necessary action to allot Sundra Trees in Adilabad, Warangal , Khammam and Karimnagar Districts on the following lines:

1). The Sundra Trees in Adilabad and Warangal Districts may be allotted to the Tribal beneficiaries identified by Integrated Tribal Development Authority on the same conditions as prescribed in the Government Memo. first cited for a period of three years ie., 1991-92 to 1993-94. Pending fixation of the royalty rates per tree for the year 1991-92, 11% escalation rates over 1990-91 rates may be collected from the Integrated Tribal Development Authorities subject to an undertaking that the Integrated Tribal Development Authorities should pay the difference in rates fixed by the Government and tentatively collected now.

2). In Khammam and Karimnagar Districts the Sundra trees may be allotted to the Tribal Cooperative Societies identified by Project Officer, Integrated Tribal Development Authority, Palvancha and Collector, Karimnagar respectively", after observing the following procedure:

a) In case of Tribal Societies in Karimnagar and Khammam Districts coming forward for allotment of Sundra trees and while duly recommended by the Integrated Tribal Development Authorities of the Districts concerned or Director of Tribal Welfare, preferences shall be given to the Tribal Societies and the rate and supply of sundra trees will have to be as per integrated Tribal Development Authorities supplies.

b) In Karimnagar District, there is already a Tribal Society in the name and style of M/s Advasi Kasu Udyog Industrial Co-operative Society, Kundurvalli Village, Mahadevpur Mandal of Karimnagar District and this society shall be given preference large number of Sundra Trees available in Karimnagar, subject to verifying the existence and performance of the Society and recommendations by the Director of Tribal Welfare Department on the same conditions and rate per tree fixed for Integrated Tribal Development Authorities supplies.

c) By entering into an agreement with the Tribal through Integrated Tribal Development Authority with Tribal Cooperative Societies and Integrated Tribal Development Authorities as the case may be, for supply of Sundra Trees after jetting the agreement duly signed. There shall be no credit sales and rate per tree shall be collected in advance as in the past for both Integrated Tribal Developed Authorities & Tribal Societies.

4. The Prl. Chief Conservator of Forests is also requested to send the draft agreement taking into consideration of the above facts, for approval of the Government, immediately.
