Relief Sought : to issue a direction order or orders more particularly in thenature of a writ of mandamus declaring the acts of the respondents in not ennumerating all the chenchus in the schedules area as voters for the local body elections and consequently direct the respondents to go ahead to conduct the elections for the local bodies only after enrolling of the chenchus of the chenchusgudems specially with regard to 23 villages in the erstwhile Achampeta Taluka of Mahaboobnagar dist.
Relief Granted: "The term of the elective bodies for the year 1995 is almost coming to an end. In view of the reasons stated in W.P.No.13161 of 1998, the stay order which was granted earlier staying the elections in the scheduled areas is now being vacated. The fresh elections are due and have got to be conducted. We direct the respondent No.1 to ensure that all the eligible voters in the elections to be conducted to the local bodies throughout the state including the chenchus should be included in the voters list." |

Relief Granted: direct the 2nd respondent to consider the proposals sent by the 3rd respondent on 3.8.1998 and also the representation made by the villagers on 19.11.2001 and he shall pass appropriate orders thereon in accordance with law, expeditiously, preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of this order. |
